I had a basic understanding of the legislation, but the course made me more mindful of my obligations and has enabled me to tweak procedures. Some of the screen sharing was not complete, and some points had to be dealt with verbally. The presenter was very personable and down to earth. Very easy to understand. Tony is a fantastic instructor, and I love his stories, especially the last story where he shared about the forged marriage certificate. Excellent, the course provided me with some very relevant information and some helpful guidance on how to ensure I remain compliant. I thought I had a good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection, but actually having completed the course, I now realise I was lacking in a number of areas, so this was very educational.
Tony, is an experienced investigator and an open and knowledgeable presenter who has taken a lot of time to put together a course that would be beneficial to anyone in the profession.

The quality of the presentation was excellent and well supported with real life scenarios which make a complicated subject much easier to grasp. This training is essential for any practitioner. Tony knows this subject back to front he's the architect behind it.  I suspect his knowledge and how it applies to the Investigatve sector is unparalleled. I attended my 4th workshop on 16 Nov 2024. I’m glad I did because it served as a very useful refresher and I can see how GDPR is evolving. The workshop is presented really well, and because other participants are present, it is most helpful (and fun at times) to debate scenarios, work out the best practices, identify the booby traps, and see common mistakes close up.
Whether or not any investigator chooses to become a code member, they’ll 100% benefit from the workshop as a tool to keep them away from trouble when handling personal data. I can read up on it, I can seek training elsewhere, BUT the workshop is tailor-made for me as an ABI member, in a room with my peers and well within my comfort zone. 2024-11-16
