Referral to an Investigator

Access the ABI’s database of fully vetted, trained professionals or register your requirements in the form below for confidential referral to an accredited ABI professional from the key professional body for investigators:

The police can only do so much. For civil cases, employment matters…and even cases of fraud…a professional private sector investigator is the only realistic choice.

But it’s an unlicensed profession. Virtually anyone can charge for investigation services. The wrong person could breach confidences, waste time and under-deliver. It can leave a horrible taste in the mouth - and a hole in your budget too.

To resolve this, the ABI maintains a comprehensive database of trained investigators throughout the UK – and overseas.

Here, you’ll find people who meet the ABI’s exacting professional standards, and sign up to our rigid code of ethics.

They’ve been thoroughly screened and background-checked, so there’s no need for you to delay your project – or hike up your costs – by worrying over due diligence. Everything is taken care of.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the privacy laws a lawful basis for processing a person's personal data has to be established. For investigations this is usually the client’s legitimate interest that outweighs the data subject’s right to privacy. On balancing those interests and rights the ABI member may be in difficulty meeting your requirements or may have to obtain the data subject’s consent prior to reporting details to you. You should discuss this with the ABI member.

"We have just had an investigation completed by one of your members… I thought I would just drop you a line to let you know that we are delighted with the professional service provided and in particular... Obviously ABI membership has proved very meaningful quality assurance for us. Our surveillance was undertaken - as I assume it is for most people - at a stressful time. Finding help from a calm, professional and supportive investigator was a great support to us. Thanks to the member and to yourselves for helping us find him."

We engaged the services of one of the referred members.  I am writing to commend their professionalism, diligence, persistence, and above all, their kindness. They frequently went above and beyond in their efforts. I believe they bring great credit to your association and to your profession."

"I want to send my personal gratitude to you for providing me with an investigator.  Your member is one in a million! He has not only been professional and courteous but by far one of the best persons I have ever worked with. He has been able to locate what I need in record time and at a fantastic price. You should recommend his company and him specifically to anyone and everyone who needs help.  I just wanted to make sure he gets credit for the awesome work he has done and that he is rewarded handsomely with additional work."
