In 2017, on the invitation of the Hungarian Ministry of Interior the ABI supported the EU umbrella body, Internationale Kommission der Detektiv-Verbände by attending before a delegation of Stakeholders in the PI sector, which included officials from the Ministry of Interior, the Minister and his deputy.
Our purpose was to advise on good practice policies, data protection and investigative methodologies the Hungarian government may wish to consider when implementing the new licensing regime for investigations in the private sector.
We have again been requested to assist with advice on the effects of GDPR.

The ABI holds small group one-day training workshops on GDPR compliance dedicated to the Professional Investigator sector.
The feedback has been extremely positive and encouraging as to how the UK ABI membership is and has adapted.
