Ray E. Parry, the principal of Crimeproofing Ltd spent the initial portion of his working life in the fledgling computer and traditional graphic arts industry including a substantial portion of this time specialising in its security aspects. In this field he has held senior executive positions in both Europe and North America including a 5-year period as President of a medium-sized US Corporation. For the past 20 years he has focused exclusively on the ever-increasing problems of fraud, counterfeiting, product diversion, licensee over-supply, and forgery and in the process necessarily extended his expertise to include additional, non graphics-related facets as demanded by the complexities involved where effective countermeasures are to be deployed. Specifically, he is one of the few specialists on a worldwide basis in full spectrum Brand Protection (Proactive/Reactive Intelligence & Investigation and Deterrent/Detection Protective Products).
Ray has worked with a large number of legal, financial, and other business organisations, governmental law enforcement and commercial intelligence and investigation agencies, both in Europe and the United States, on a variety of fraud, counterfeiting and forgery matters including Cheque Fraud, Document Protection/Questioned Document verification and IP/Brand Protection of apparel, sports equipment, aircraft and vehicle parts, wines and spirits, pharmaceuticals and imaging consumables as well as significant sections of the high-tech industry and also with many suppliers in the development of effective protective product solutions. Notably he has been IP Protection/Enforcement Agent to the English Premier Football league and several major Football Clubs; was Editor of Brand & Product Protection magazine and Editor-in-Chief of the website counterfeit.com; was nominated as Investigator of the Year by The Association of British Investigators for his work on counterfeit aircraft parts and has published numerous articles on various aspects of intellectual property protection and associated topics. He is also a Member of the National Fraud Advisory Panel. Ray attended Harrogate (Yorkshire) Grammar School, is a graduate of Leeds College of Commerce (now Leeds Metropolitan University) in Business Studies; was subsequently accredited in the USA as an MBA; he is also a Certified Fraud Examiner as a Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; is a duly vetted and examined Member of The Association of British Investigators, the only UK PI organization endorsed by The Law Society and is en ex-Territorial Army Volunteer Reserve Officer. Over the years he has developed a unique philosophy which seeks to establish the problem parameters of commercial crime and/or other types of investigatory matters as they relate to a specific organisation and the industry in which it operates before attempting to offer solutions. Through this process, such solutions are tailored to individual requirements and, as a result of his unique and international background, using the widest possible range of cost-effective options. !
