IKD - "Internationale Kommission der Detektiv-Verbände" (International Federation of Associations of Private Detectives) is an International Umbrella Body consisting of Associations of professional bodies for Investigators and Security Practitioners throughout the world.
The Federation has its seat in Vienna, Austria and invites membership participation from National Professional organizations or representatives.
The IKD is focused on maintaining the highest standards, meeting its code of ethics and promoting harmonization of regulations towards a common minimum standard, particularly within the European Union.
The ABI is and has been for many years a leading participant in the IKD programme. The ABI Secretariat, Tony Imossi is the IKD Secretary General, a position he has held since 2004 and before him the post was held for nine years by ABI Past President, Richard Jacques Turner.
This year the IKD is 55 years old and for this 2019 conference the hosts are its Austrian professional body member, the Österreichischer Detektiv-Verband (ODV), which celebrates its own 50th anniversary.
