ABI past president awarded JSIC Gold Medal for Excellence
“In recognition of his outstanding unselfish commitment, and inexorable efforts on behalf of and for the improvement of the Private Security Industry”
April 2004
Please allow me to convey my thanks to the Council for awarding me the JSIC Gold Medal for Excellence, the highest Award achievable across all Sectors of the Security Industry. A truly great honour. Having had no idea that I had even been nominated it left me at the time of its presentation, before such distinguished guests, absolutely overwhelmed and speechless (an unusual state for me to find myself).
I have spent the past 4 years serving as President of the Association of British Investigators and throughout have recognised and supported the very important and influential role played by JSIC and in particular its Chief Executive, Mike Welply and the rest of the team. It was Mike’s initiative in setting up the Way Forward Group with the Home Office that led to the various Sectors making moves to defragment and provide a united representative front to assist the Sectors and indeed the Security Industry Authority in the awesome task before them. I continue in my active support of JSIC and to Chair the Investigators’ Sector Group.
The Award is very much appreciated and is indeed a suitable memento of the time I was privileged to serve in such an honourable position. I hope that my efforts will have and have had a positive influence for the advancement of the industry and am truly flattered that my peers have seen fit to recognise my efforts.
Yours truly,
Tony Imossi
