Licensing is an SIA main priority

The SIA is proceeding with the option of licensing individual private investigation and precognition agents, with competency criteria, which will include specified training.

Ministers have now agreed that the licensing of private investigators should be one of the SIA's main priorities.

Personal Information Promise

In response to recent reports on major data losses the Information Commissioner's Office is urging heads of organisations to sign up to the Personal Information Promise, to demonstrate their organisation’s senior level commitment to data protection.

The Association of British Investigators signed the Personal Information Promise on 18 May 2009.
