New ABI scheme for 2008

The Association has negotiated a new exclusive PII policy scheme for 2008 with improved cover at lower rates. The automatic renewal process with the existing broker will not take place this year.

Please note that you must make your application in time to maintain your cover when the existing scheme ends in August. Renewal will not be automatic. It is your responsibility to ensure you have PII cover.

The 2007 scheme

Excessive premiums for Professional Indemnity Insurance, an absolute business requirement for any professional engaged in investigations in the private sector, has been the subject of considerable discussion and discontent for some time.

The Association of British Investigators has addressed the issue and successfully secured a block policy for qualifying members and introduced Professional Indemnity Insurance as a requirement of membership. This unique and significant development for customer care follows extensive research and satisfying Underwriters as to the quality of the membership, the enforced code of conduct, the disciplinary procedures and other constitutional matters demonstrating an unparalleled professionalism.

Members of the Association in holding Professional Indemnity Insurance, enjoy commercial security, protection of assets, professional standing, marketability and client-comfort.

There is no doubt that for any Private Investigator who runs an agency as a commercial enterprise, professionally, as a career and with customer care and an effective marketing programme, the Association’s Professional Indemnity Insurance scheme is of great interest and of financial benefit.
