The Association has different levels of membership depending on the member’s status and services offered.

 

Full Membership

Full members have passed all of our strict entrance criteria and are practicing investigators with over two years experience.

 

Provisional Membership

This category is open to persons who are over the age of 18 and UK based, but at the time of applying are either yet to become practising investigators or have been practising for less than 2 years. Ideally they should have undergone or be registered on and adhering to a training course approved by the Governing Council.

 

Associate Members

Are UK based persons engaged in the public sector of the investigative profession.

 

Overseas Members

Full-time investigators resident and operating outside the United Kingdom. They must satisfy the Selection Committee as to their ability, character and integrity, or be sponsored by 2 existing members in good standing, and be aged 21 years or over.

 

Affiliate Members

Persons engaged in an occupation which is ancillary to or complements the investigation industry and who are persons who do not otherwise practise as fee earning private investigators. Minimum age limit - 25 years.

 

Life Members

Members who have been awarded membership based on their outstanding services to the industry.
